There's Always a Lesson in the Wait

We have all experienced moments in our life where waiting can seem painful and unbearing. It's an unexplainable error that can't be removed or edited. Sometimes, we think if I could just get past the wait, I'd be in a better place in my life, right?

Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way - well, at least in my experience. There are seasons in our life where we have to learn to experience the delay. In this post, I want to uncover the significance of waiting and the lesson that we can all learn in the process.

The Lesson

Are you waiting for that new promotion? A new house? Or maybe you are waiting for a major shift in your life? Whatever the reason for your wait may be, you must recognize the cause and why you are at a pause in your life.

The Bible tells us that waiting on God is simply taking stock of our blessings. The things, we think we need, are wants and God has already fulfilled every need.  Are we able to read, write and breathe? So, why not be patient for the wants.

The scripture verse, Psalm 27:14 (AMP) says, "Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord."

While waiting on God, we have to trust and thank Him for all we have and can do before we receive bigger blessings. Thank Him for the things you don't normally thank Him for and learn to appreciate the wait and His timing.

The lesson I've learned in the process of waiting is finding peace in God's plans and pauses. You can use the time of waiting to appreciate God's grace and love, when he has designed a special gift specifically for you, for the perfect time.

The Significance of Waiting

When you really define the word wait, it's not a word that means it will cause you harm. It actually describes the importance of marking time and enjoying the stage you are currently in. Despite the many difficulties that life may bring, you have to find the courage and strength to continue on regardless of any obstacle.

Waiting is an important part of growth and navigating through is a wonderful lesson for correction and protection. Think about it, who would you be today if everything and anything was given to you? Honestly ask yourself, would I really and truly be appreciative of what I currently have?

No matter what, waiting is part of the natural order that just has to be.

Remember, Waiting doesn't mean you aren't hearing God correctly. Waiting doesn't mean you aren't praying enough. Waiting is a simple nudge to stop trying to take control of every aspect of your life.

The season of waiting can be a beautiful lesson, so never forget that God's timing is not yours.

Scripture References for Waiting

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) - "For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."
