Faith and The Hustle

Hustle is one of the most popular and overused words today. It's a word that most people can relate to when trying to make their dreams a reality. But how does faith correlate with the 'hustle'?

Society tells us that you must hustle harder in order to get where you want to be and everyone you know seems to be working on their 'side-hustle' just to maintain a standard of living. Why is this a thing? I'm not knocking those who hustle because I do believe we should all have a little hustle in us, but the concept and the reality of the term hustle have replaced the idea of actually doing and having faith in, what you are doing.

We have lost sight of the big picture and what it means to work hard.  Yes, hard work is celebrated in the Bible, but in order for your hustle to be effective, you must align your faith with the hustle.

Where is your faith in the hustle?  Hustling to make things happen in our relative fields doesn't come without commitment. We can attempt many things and yet we find ourselves giving up and moving on to the next attempt. Remember, we aren't working hard if there's nothing to work on.

We have to remember to plan and execute with faith. Once we have committed to those plans, hustling in the faith is our work put into action.

Here's What the Bible Says About the Hustle:

Proverbs 14:23  (AMP)

In all labor there is profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty.

Colossians 3:23 (AMP)

Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men.

1 Thessalonians 2:9  (AMP)

For you remember, believers, our labor, and hardship. We worked night and day [practicing our trade] in order not to be a [financial] burden to any of you while we proclaimed the gospel of God to you.

And Here's How to Have Faith In the Hustle:

Remain Steadfast

One way to achieve success is to persevere and stay committed. Yes, it's easier said than done. However, we must remind ourselves that success doesn't happen overnight, but whatever you consistently do will later lead to those small wins for real success.

Your commitment to 'the hustle' without faith can separate you from the next great thing.

So, remain true to your work and be diligent in what you do to get closer to where you want to be.

Slowdown and Enjoy the Process

There are moments in our lives when it seems like we have to move so quickly in order to meet other peoples expectations and then, there are moments when we forget to simply enjoy the season that we're in because we spent too much time trying to rush the process.

Sometimes, we have to take things slow and know that it's okay to pause for a moment to think, re-evaluate and understand what it is we are trying to achieve. If we want to ensure longevity, simply have faith in what you're doing and learn to enjoy each and every moment.

Know Your Purpose & Believe In It

I think this point is so vital in order to have faith in your hustle. Mapping out plans for your dreams and building on something that you want to achieve, must have a purpose.

Your purpose will define the next steps you need to take in order to fulfill God's plan for your life. If you don't know what your purpose is, step back and find out what you are passionate about. What do you enjoy doing most that can make a difference in others lives? What would you be able to do consistently and effectively? Once you are able to answer those questions and define your purpose, believe that nothing you do is impossible with God. Live out your faith day by day and believe that your purpose will get you through.

So, as you consider to work diligently make sure you align your faith with the hustle. Your commitment and ability to reach your goals are depending on it.
