3 Simple Action Plans to Keep You Motivated When You're Feeling Less Creative

It's not uncommon to hear when you're working tirelessly as a creative entrepreneur that you've lost your inspiration. One of the many things that creative entrepreneurs do when they feel stuck and unmotivated is either stop what they are doing or move on to something entirely different from where their passion lies.

What we fail to realize as creative entrepreneurs, is we are more in control of our creativity. Feeling lost and unaware of what to do next is common, but it doesn't have to be the case for you. There are activities and strategies you can do to bring back the motivation you need to get moving and get going. In this post, I want to cover my simple action plans when I'm feeling uninspired and need a little pick me up.

Identify your Distractions

What is keeping you from being inspired and motivated? Many times there are negative roadblocks that may enter your inner circle without ever recognizing it. You have to be aware of the negative distractions that may cause you to lose track of what you are trying to accomplish. Ask yourself, why am I feeling the way I am? What has happened in the last few hours or days that has caused a distraction? You have to learn to boss up around your surroundings. Once you are able to identify your distractions, no one or nothing can take control of your creativity.

Get Inspired by Being Around Inspiration: Friends, Peers, Loved-Ones

This may seem obvious to some and others are probably on the fence with this statement. It is much easier to get and stay inspired if you are surrounded by people who are and have been creative entrepreneurs. Working with others and hearing their input, when you have similar goals, can motivate you to continue the process.  This will also help you enjoy the experience of using your creativity. So, the next time you feel uninspired, call up a friend, a mentor, or a family member and get some advice; or even go to an event that will push you to interact with others. You will be surprised at what will come from it.

Find Your Peak Time

I don't know about you but during specific hours of the day, I feel more alert and creative than during other hours of the day. In order to remain inspired, you have to learn what are your most productive hours. Some people enjoy working early in the morning and others work better late at night. Whatever the case may be, don't waste time if you aren't ready to work. We all have to find our peak times, and recognizing what does and doesn't work for you is part of the process. Try testing different work methods at different hours of the day. Learn to eliminate certain tasks and recognize what has made a difference in your creativity.

I hope this post will motivate you to consider creating action plans that are conducive to your creative flow. What do you do to stay motivated? Comment below.
